More than 500 veterans, disabled veterans, government dignitaries, VIPs and supporters gathered for the official groundbreaking ceremony of The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.

Memorial design team completes final drawings and specifications in close coordination with National Parks Service.

Memorial sponsor submits to the National Parks Service the final drawings and specifications, cost estimate, and evidence of funds on hand, plus 10 percent cash payment of design and construction costs for maintenance. The sponsor seeks final approval by the Secretary of the Interior.

LIFE LogoLeaders In Furthering Education hosts its annual gala in Palm Beach benefiting the Memorial project and raises more than $300,000. Bobby Barrera, Vietnam combat disabled veteran, is the keynote speaker.
