We would like to extend a special thanks to actor, director and musician, Gary Sinise, for serving as the National Spokesperson for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial throughout the 16 year effort. During his tenure as the Memorial’s National Spokesperson, Mr. Sinise traveled the country, supporting the Memorial’s cause at events and conferences from coast to coast.
Although Mr. Sinise has long been an outspoken advocate of veterans’ issues, it was his memorable performance as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump that firmly secured his place in the hearts and minds of Americans. Today, Mr. Sinise spends much of his time raising awareness for the Memorial and other veterans’ service organizations, appearing frequently with disabled veterans in fundraising forums, radio and television talk shows, and national meetings, including an appearance at the National Press Club.
