DVLMF receives $2,810,710 from the U.S. Mint, representing the earned “surcharge” revenue from the sale of 281,071 American Veterans Disabled for Life commemorative silver dollars.

Leaders In Furthering Education hosts its annual gala in Palm Beach benefiting the Memorial project and raises more than $300,000. Bobby Barrera, Vietnam combat disabled veteran, is the keynote speaker.

Memorial sponsor submits to the National Parks Service the final drawings and specifications, cost estimate, and evidence of funds on hand, plus 10 percent cash payment of design and construction costs for maintenance. The sponsor seeks final approval by the Secretary of the Interior.
